About Sophia
Sophia Slates is a Christian singer-songwriter who brings songs to life with the folk instruments she plays. Influenced by artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Francesca Battistelli, Toby Mac, and more, she has been inspired to learn as much about music as possible. She will graduate with a degree in Commercial Music with emphases in Music Technology and Music Business in the spring of 2022. Her debut album titled “My Story” was released in March 2020, and she is eager to begin recording her second studio album.

Studio Work
Sophia has been a studio musician and vocalist since 2018. She has recorded in Oceanway Studios, Robert E. Malloy Studios, Sweetwater Studios, as well as several at-home studio set-ups. She is very comfortable taking direction from producers to get the right sound for the song/music and easily changes her regular tone to fit the need of the recording.
Performances
Sophia has performed in many coffee shops, festivals, and concert halls. She is able to adapt her performances to the venue and audience where she is performing. Sophia loves connecting with the audience and playing songs people love and can sing along to, as well as being the background music at an event.
Private Lessons
Sophia has taught private lessons since 2016 in subjects such as music theory, ukulele, violin, and voice. Although teaching is not what she went to school for, she is passionate about teaching young students because she was taught at a young age. Sophia wants to bring that same love of music to younger students so that they might experience a passion for music and learn in a way that helps them understand other academic material and communicate more effectively.
